After a long day at the office, the highlight of Jenn’s day
was heading to the shelter after work to volunteer as a Head Start Trainer. She would
teach the homeless dogs some basic manners to help them be considered polite
by potential adopters. That was back in
2004… now that hobby has turned into running her own dog behavior company. This came about when Jenn learned the method
of positive reinforcement training… and realized that it’s not about bribing
your dog with treats - it's about two-way communication and respect. She was amazed by
the success of this method and in 2008 completed the Calgary Humane Society’s
Dog Trainers Apprenticeship program.
Feeling everyone should know these life changing methods, she now
teaches classes to coach dog owners of all breeds. Crediting the positive reinforcement method
with teaching her patience and to be a better wife, mother, friend, teacher,
sister, daughter and of course… dog owner.
Jenn is so grateful for the opportunity to teach and learn with each animal & owner who cross her path.
